The ADM1 Library is a directory and sub-directory structure that provides a separate place for analyst, technical administrators, testing groups and support individuals to store configuration files, programs and job scripts that support the application infra-structure but are not part of the actual business application.
We have made a significant effort to ensure the documents and software technologies are correct and accurate. We reserve the right to make changes without notice at any time. The function delivered in this version is based upon the enhancement requests from a specific group of users. The intent is to provide changes as the need arises and in a timeframe that is dependent upon the availability of resources.

The following diagram shows the model sub-directory structure for the ADM1 directory. The ADM1 directory is typically a sub-directory under a directory structure for a Development, Production or Test environment. Update or change capability to the ADM1 directory structure and content may be limited to system and support individuals. Read or view access typically has a larger audience.
Directory & sub-DirectoriesThis section provides additional detail about the ADM1 Library and some of the system and support functions available. The base directory contains two (2) sub-directories, Command Files and data files used for control or member lists. ADM1\CNTL\sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the control files. The contents of this directory are used to determine the execution behavior of many of the jobs and/or programs used by the system administrators. ADM1\PREP sub-DirectoryThe PREP sub-directory contains job scripts and additional sub-directories. ADM1\PREP\GCBL sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the COBOL Source Code generated during the prepare processing. ADM1\PREP\GCSV sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the Comma-Separated-Values (CSV) files that are used by or generated during the prepare processing. ADM1\PREP\GFLD sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the Field Definition Specifications that are used by or generated during the prepare processing. ADM1\PREP\GHTM sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the HTML documents that are used by or generated during the prepare processing. ADM1\PREP\GNTS sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the executable members created by the COBOL compile process. ADM1\PREP\GPCF sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the Process Control Files (PCF). ADM1\PREP\PCTL sub-DirectoryControl files for Prepare process. ADM1\PREP\PINC sub-DirectoryThis directory contains commonly used or shared snippets of HTML code that may be included in other HTML documents. ADM1\PREP\PLOG sub-DirectoryOptional directory for logging output from the job scripts that are used by the data convert and review processes. ADM1\PREP\PPCF sub-DirectoryProcess Control Files for Prepare process. These are typically hand-contructed by human beings. ADM1\PREP\WORK sub-DirectoryThis directory is used for Work or Temporary files. ADM1\PREP\XLSS sub-DirectoryContains spreadsheet files. Typically .xls or .csv. that are created using Excel or LibreOffice CALC. ADM1\DATA sub-DirectoryThe DATA sub-directory contains data files and additional sub-directories. ADM1\DATA\UTIL sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the files that are created by the utility programs that perform technical administrative function. For example, the Repository for Application Properties (SIMOTIME.UTIL.APMASTER.DAT) is a Key Sequenced Data Set and it is stored in this directory. The cross-reference files (both CSV and RSEQ with Fixed Fields) for programs and copy files are stored in this directory. The names for the cross reference files are SIMOTIME.UTIL.COPYXREF.CSV and SIMOTIME.UTIL.COPYXREF.DAT. The SIMOTIME.UTIL.COPYXREF.CSV is provided for easy access by Microsoft Excel. ADM1\DATA\WRK1 sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the temporary work files used by the technical administrative function. The scripted application build process uses a set of list files for COBOL source members based on a category or member type. The four list files are as follows.
Also, this directory contains the file SIMOTIME.UTIL.BMSMEML1.LST with a list of BMS source members that is used for the scripted BMS Generation. ADM1\HTML sub-DirectoryThis directory contains the documentation for the technical administrators. Also, it serves as a holding directory for the initial copies of documents prior to review and sharing with others. Two of the HTML documents apsamp01.htm and aphtml03.htm are produced by the APHTMLE1.CMD and APHTML03.CMD commands and contain the detailed and summary information from the Repository of Application Properties. The detailed information includes a line item containing Member Type, Member Language, Lines of Code and Member Content (i.e. Batch, CICS or SQL) for each source member. The summary information includes member counts by member type and total lines of code for the member groups. SummaryThe ADM1 Library is a directory and sub-directory structure that provides a separate place for analyst, technical administrators, testing groups and support individuals. This document may be used to assist as a tutorial for new programmers or as a quick reference for experienced programmers. In the world of programming there are many ways to solve a problem. This documentation and software were developed and tested on systems that are configured for a SIMOTIME environment based on the hardware, operating systems, user requirements and security requirements. Therefore, adjustments may be needed to execute the jobs and programs when transferred to a system of a different architecture or configuration. SIMOTIME Services has experience in moving or sharing data or application processing across a variety of systems. We appreciate hearing from you. Company OverviewSimoTime Technologies was founded in 1987 and is a privately owned company. We specialize in the creation and deployment of business applications using new or existing technologies and services. We have a team of individuals that understand the broad range of technologies being used in today's environments. Our customers include small businesses using Internet technologies to corporations using very large mainframe systems. Quite often, to reach larger markets or provide a higher level of service to existing customers it requires the newer Internet technologies to work in a complementary manner with existing corporate mainframe systems. We specialize in preparing applications and the associated data that are currently residing on a single platform to be distributed across a variety of platforms. Preparing the application programs will require the transfer of source members that will be compiled and deployed on the target platform. The data will need to be transferred between the systems and may need to be converted and validated at various stages within the process. SimoTime has the technology, services and experience to assist in the application and data management tasks involved with doing business in a multi-system environment. Whether you want to use the Internet to expand into new market segments or as a delivery vehicle for existing business functions simply give us a call or check the web site at http://www.simotime.com
